Tanzania’s First Regeneration Centre
A gateway to awe and a place of purpose.
At the Arusha Giraffe Centre, we are dedicated to raising awareness of the Silent Extinction of giraffes and restoring the land they call home. Our vision is to regenerate the Maasai Steppe and to become the educational hub for sustainable agriculture in East Africa.
Through conservation efforts, educational programs and regenerative farming practices, we aim to create lasting change for both wildlife and local communities. Our Education Centre offers visitors the chance to learn about these vital efforts while also getting up close to the magnificent giraffes that inspire our mission.
Please note, to respect their natural behaviours, no touching or feeding is allowed as our giraffes are wild living and interact with humans on their own terms.
* Journey – the collective noun for a group of giraffes that are moving or running.
Meet Our Residents
A Voice for the Silent Extinction
Step into a place of wonder, purpose, and regeneration. At the Arusha Giraffe Centre, you’ll walk alongside wild giraffes – Valerie, Eliana, Edward, and Lottie – while learning how conservation and sustainable farming are transforming landscapes and communities. We are a secure wildlife sanctuary that firmly believes that a healthy and balanced ecosystem is the key to a thriving community and durable wildlife populations.
Giraffes are silently disappearing, with populations declining by nearly 30% in just three decades due to habitat loss and poaching according to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation. Discover hopeful, practical solutions for wildlife protection and rural empowerment, all while experiencing the beauty of these Maasai giraffes. Join us for a bush walk, support a school visit, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and a giraffe-shaped biscuit. Every step here helps nature thrive!
