VISIT the arusha giraffe centre
A walking tour with giraffes
Be part of the journey
Join us for an unforgettable walking tour at the Arusha Giraffe Centre! Explore our rewilded farm on foot as you walk alongside the giraffes in their natural habitat.
When you arrive at the centre, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a cup of coffee and a homemade AGC biscuit to kickstart your visit.
Your tour begins upstairs with an introduction to the Centre’s mission and a reminder that the experience is at your own risk – adhering to instructions ensures a safe and respectful interaction with our giraffes. The guided tour takes you through three observation bays: Wildlife, Environment, and Community. These displays highlight the challenges we all face globally, and the last bay, “Eco-Ag,” showcases our regenerative farming practices.
After this, you’ll embark on a bush walk through the acacia woodlands of our rewilded farm, where the giraffes roam freely. As the giraffes are wild, the length of the walk varies, but you’ll often encounter vibrant birdlife, insects, and wildflowers depending on the season. Our guides will take you within 10 metres of the giraffes, allowing you to observe their behaviours. Feel free to stay as long as you wish, immersed in the beauty of nature.
For comfort on your visit, we recommend walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and binoculars for birdwatching!

How to find us
Follow the giraffe
We are located 20km West of Arusha on the road to the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti. Take the rough road opposite the Panone petrol station between Kisongo and Duka Mbovu. There is a Giraffe sign that hopefully is unmissable! After 4km you will see another remarkably similar Giraffe sign on your right. Turn right here and follow the rough(er) road for 2km. You will arrive at the gate and turn right inside the fence to arrive at the centre. You park on the righthand side. It is possible to drop people off directly at the entrance although we ask people to only use this option if there are mobility issues.
If you’re unsure about where to go, don’t hesitate to contact us at +255 624 298 086.
